A Supportive Hug

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our village and considering us as a means of support.  Life offers a measure of challenge to everyone, and people of color carry a special burden rich with complicated layers that makes us more vulnerable, and more guarded.  We see you.  We know.  We are here  to provide you with a safe space to relax your mind a little, discover what really matters to you and help you explore ways to get you closer to what you want.  We desire for you to prosper, be in good mental health and live well.

People of color, and all those whose lives have been marginalized by those in power, experience life differently from those whose lives have not been devalued. They experience overt racism and bigotry far too often, which leads to a mental health burden that is deeper than what others may face.

- Mental Health America

"It’s challenging to talk about how you’re doing mentally since it’s an invisible injury — people can’t see it, so it’s harder to understand, but I think that’s why it’s so important we feel empowered to open up about it."

- Simone Biles

"Freeing yourself was one thing, taking ownership of that freed self was another"

- Toni Morrison
